We had a great evening and Cat and her Group met with some local (also Belfast and Cork) knitters, all decked out in Cat Bordhi creations.  Lots of Cat Bordhi socks in evidence!

Can’t wait for their next visit May 2017.

Gradually uploading haberdashery (including some very nice dressmaking scissors) onto the website over the next few days.  We will continue to add more haberdashery items so any and all suggestions welcome, specially from all our sewing, embroidery and quilting students!  As usual, we will try and keep prices reasonable.

Just took delivery of lots of different types of sewing needles for tapestry, crewelwork, embroidery, general repair, leatherwork, darning and upholstery.

Now that Maire Treanor’s Irish Clones Lace workshop is over, we’re taking bookings for this amazing workshop with Alexis Bernstorff, Artistic Director and Embroidery Tutor for the Ros Tapestry.  The Ros Tapestry will be coming to Farmleigh in the new year for a few months.

There will be a brief introduction to the history of crewelwork embroidery and the background to the Ros Tapestry.  Also learn 6 classic embroidery stitches.

I’ve been asked to post this again – Alexis Bernstorff, Artistic Director and Tapestry Tutor of the Ros Tapestry , is coming to Francis Street for a Workshop on Saturday, 24th November.  This is a unique opportunity to learn some crewelwork stitches and hear all about the 100′s of volunteers and millions of stitches that went into the making of the Ros Tapestry!

Alexis Bernstorff, Artistic Director and Embroidery Tutor for the Ros Tapestry will be giving a one-day workshop at the Constant Knitter on Saturday, 24th November next.

The monumental Ros Tapestry tells the story of the Normans in Ireland and the founding of the town of New Ross.  It consists of 15 embroidered panels, each panel being 6ft X 4ft in size.  Hundreds of embroiderers, thousands of hours, millions of stitches, this is a tale told in thread……….
