knitlab workshop at The Constant Knitter
Born in Dublin, Kieran learned to knit as a child. He studied textile Design at NCAD and then worked in London designing furnishing textiles, and in Milan designing textiles for clothing. He has been designing knitting patterns since 2007, with an emphasis on colour and innovation.
This will be a relaxed workshop exploring various ways of introducing colour to your knitting projects, including stranded knitting, intarsia, lace knitting, and beading.
It includes a presentation of swatches combining different techniques, and a knitting session for you to experiment with techniques and colours.
Charts are provided for a choice of swatches of varying complexity.
The emphasis of the workshop is on swatching and experimentation. Once you get familiar with the techniques the charts can be used to make larger projects.
Some experience of colour knitting and reading a chart will be useful!
You will need needles and yarn in your choice of colours.
