Nuno Felting

Nuno Felting

Nuno Felting

The gorgeous results from one of the Nuno Felting workshops on Friday mornings at The Constant Knitter yarn shop on Francis St, Dublin 8.  The workshops are given by Niki Collier of Niki Collier Design.

Nuno Felting is the technique of layering very small amounts of wool onto a woven fabric, in this case, silk. Through the felting process, the wool fiber migrates through the fabric. As the normal shrinkage from the felting process takes place, the fabric is pulled, creating unique textures in the product.

Lang Jawoll Superwash – new colours in

Lang Jawoll Superwash

Lang Jawoll Superwash

Each skein of this beautiful yarn contains a spool of matching reinforcement yarn to carry along when knitting the toe & heel, the parts that get the most wear & tear.  Jawoll is very soft and fine – it also knits and crochets beautifully into sweaters, gloves, hats, shawls, really any fingering-weight project. You need just 2 skeins for a large pair of men’s mid-length socks.
