Everyone who makes garments and accessories knows how important colour can be to the success of the finished product, but how many of us are confident when it comes to putting colours together? A class in colour-theory can have you creating colour combinations that will add that professional touch to your garments.

Andrew Carroll, who will be facilitating the class, trained as an Architect and Interior Designer, before qualifiying with a BA and MA in Visual Arts Practice from IADT Dun Laoghaire. He has exhibited at the RHA annual exhibition. He will be giving a 4-hour colour-theory workshop on Saturday 13th October:

Morning: Basics of Colour Theory – this class will focus on the basics of modern colour theory and will cover the following subjects:

Primary and Secondary Colours; The 12-hue Colour Wheel and beyond; Complementary colours; Triads and Quads; Colour Harmony; Tints, Shades and Tone and Visual Colour Mixing.

Afternoon: Beyond the Colour Wheel which will cover the following:

The Seven Colour Contrasts; Colour Discordancy; Colour Chords; Identify in Colour; Colour Temperature; The Five Types of Colour Schemes and finally Colour Balance / Spatial Colour.

Cost: €45

Just a couple of classes  in colour-theory can have you creating colour combinations that will add that professional touch to your garments.

Andrew Carroll, who trained as an Architect and an Interior Designer, before qualifiying with a BA and MA in Visual Arts Practice from IADT Dun Laoghaire,  will be giving two 2-hour colour-theory workshops, the first one on Saturday 7th July and the second on Saturday 28th July as follows:.
